Overview
Researchers come to V&P Scientific for a magnetic bead separation rack primarily because the rack they currently have is not working. We have a wide range of rack types, and the capability to quickly customize what we offer. We make sure that the customer gets the rack they need for their particular magnetic bead assay. The features we consider when working with a customer to find (or make) the best rack:- Strong magnet(s)
- For one tube or many/different tube sizes
- Magnet position relative to the tube
- Ease of use: “Flick and Blot” style, or use with an aspiration manifold
Strong Magnets
Researchers often use smaller magnetic beads (1um or less) and need a stronger magnetic field for fast separation speed and good bead retention. We always use the strongest Neodymium magnets (52Mgo) in our magnetic bead separation devices and, where possible, we use the biggest sized magnets.
For One Tube or Many, Different Tube Sizes
V&P Scientific offers racks for magnetic bead separation in tubes of all sizes, 0.2ml, 1.5ml, 2.0ml, 5ml, 15ml, and 50 ml. We have single tube racks, multiple tube racks, and a system that allows for different tube sizes just by changing out the top of the rack.
